Semiconductor Process Technician

Spectricity started end of 2018 as a spin-off of imec, a leading R&D center in nanoelectronics and digital technologies in Belgium. Spectricity develops and manufactures spectral sensing solutions using CMOS technologies. These solutions are designed for high-volume production and use in consumer and mobile devices.
Within the dynamic, multidisciplinary and growing team of technologists, hardware- and software engineers and application experts, we are looking for an enthusiastic Semiconductor Process technician to work at XFab (Kuching, Sarawak/Malaysia). This role will be part of our growing Operations department.

 

Your main responsibilities will be to

  • Hands-on fab work on critical process and metrology and inspection equipment in conjunction with foundry engineers
  • Support logistical activities
  • Gather inline and end of line data to check if processes are in spec and yield targets are met
  • Work pro-actively together with X-Fab towards high yield processing by investigating SPC data, failure modes, and identifying root causes for yield losses

 

In your role you will

  • Work closely together with and under supervision of the Spectricity Senior foundry engineer on site
  • Hands-on fab work (~60%): inline measurements, wafer processing, wafer inspections, wafer handling, logistics etc.
  • Use your problem-solving skills and creative thinking to overcome technology and process issues

 

Your profile, skills and talents

  • You have at least a certificate / diploma in engineering, manufacturing or any other relevant field
  • You preferably have at least 2 years of hands-on experience in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment working with semiconductor equipment.
  • You are an organized, disciplined worker with a logical mindset
  • You are experienced and proficient in handling expensive wafers
  • Experience with in-line inspection, metrology or deposition systems is a strong plus
  • You can express yourself in English and Bahasa Malaysia and have good communication skills
  • You are prepared to work onsite at our X-fab foundry partner in Kuching, Sarawak/Malaysia
  • Initially, this position supports a dayshift but in the future a multishift system will be implemented with different process technicians, and the candidate must be willing to work in a different shift when necessary.
  • Able and willing to work (paid) overtime or weekends if needed

  • Participate in the development of new application algorithms by performing large data collection trials, setting up experiments and analyzing data.
  • Review new application fields through desk research and customer interactions, and help translate the needs into technical requirements for our sensors and applications. Analyze our competitive value proposition for specific application domains.
  • Support Sales & Marketing teams with advanced application and product questions of the customer: work with the advanced system and application teams to answer complex questions, define experiments to retrieve answers.

Filter Design and System Engineer

Your main responsibilities will be to

  • Design, simulate and verify hyperspectral filter implementations, in close collaboration with Spectricity process engineers and product engineers.
  • Design for manufacturing of Spectricity hyperspectral products, with emphasis on the filter design and system co-design, including process, manufacturing, optics and package tolerances.
  • Development of system models and internal development tools.
  • Together with our engineering team, design our sensor products, characterize the system specifications, define test systems to validate the design, analyze measurement results and propose improvements.

Your main responsibilities will be to

Technically support the customers and partners in Asia. You will be the technical interface to the Belgium-based R&D teams:

  • Provide proactive technical support, problem solving and Q&A for clients and partners to drive for design-win and customer satisfaction.
  • Define and establish required documentation, training materials, agenda and conduct technical training.
  • Participate in and facilitate failure analysis and corrective actions.

Support BD and Marketing to help define the customer and product requirements

  • Attend trade shows and industry events when needed
  • Conduct product demonstrations

Senior Software Engineer

Location: Belgium, Mechelen

Your main responsibilities will be to

  • work together with Computer Vision Engineers to develop processing algorithms for the multispectral cameras
  • translate Python prototypes of algorithms into efficient GPU implementations, for mobile and desktop targets
  • provide integration and development support in building camera evaluation kits and demonstrators
  • review code and coach engineers, who are not programmers but that do use code on a daily basis, towards a better overall quality of infrastructure

  • You are not afraid of any programming task needed to get the work done efficiently, whether it required using Python, Go, Matlab, Javascript, Embedded-C or anything around
  • You are proficient with Python
  • Git and continuous integration and unit tests are the tools you use daily, you can solve any Git-related glitches without problems
  • You are comfortable developing for Windows, MacOS and Linux. Android/iOS development history is a plus
