Test & Characterization Engineer

Job Description
Spectricity incorporated in 2018, as a spin-off from imec, a leading R&D center in nanoelectronics and digital technologies in Belgium. Spectricity develops low-cost, miniaturized, spectral sensing solutions with the mission to enable applications in high-volume consumer and industrial devices. These fields include wearables, smartphones, security and automotive, and spectral sensing in the field of biomedical health, smart gardening, color sensing, food analysis, smart object recognition.
Within the dynamic, multidisciplinary and fast-growing team of technologists, engineers and application experts, we are looking for an enthusiastic Test and Characterization Engineer.
Your main responsibilities:
- Wafer test
- Drive and support wafer-level image sensor test development activities
- Support the implementation of wafer test at supply chain in Asia (training local staff, interfacing with foundries, etc)
- Data processing, handing, and analysis of test data across the supply chain
- Characterization (Engineering)
- Define and build complex image sensor and camera test systems, together with our system engineers
- Characterize our sensors and cameras; Learn and understand the Spectricity proprietary filter technology to interpret the obtained measurement results
Your profile, skills, and talents
- You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience
- Experience with CMOS image sensors and/or camera systems characterization
- Experience in wafer image sensor test development and equipment (ATE)
- You have a solid understanding of elementary electronics and optics, boards, systems, imagers, cameras and test equipment
- You are comfortable analyzing large datasets, extracting and interpreting metrics
- Experience with coding in Python, use of GIT is a plus
- Documenting your work is second nature to you
- Experience with spectroscopy and/or optical systems is a plus
- You are fluent in English, and have good presentation skills
- Willing to travel when needed

R&D Application Engineer

Within the dynamic, multidisciplinary and fast-growing team of technologists, engineers and application experts, we are looking for an enthusiastic R&D Application Engineer.
Your main responsibilities will be to
- Co-define new application demos which demonstrate the value of the technology in specific application fields. Present the demos to customers and support the Sales teams.
- Participate in the development of new application algorithms by performing large data collection trials, setting up experiments and analyzing data.
- Review new application fields through desk research and customer interactions, and help translate the needs into technical requirements for our sensors and applications. Analyze our competitive value proposition for specific application domains.
- Support Sales & Marketing teams with advanced application and product questions of the customer: work with the advanced system and application teams to answer complex questions, define experiments to retrieve answers.
Your profile, skills and talents
Ideally you are a creative, self-dependent engineer or scientist, highly-motivated to be part of a dynamic team creating new value, continuously and actively seeking better solutions for our problems. Specifically:
- You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronics, applied sciences, computer science, or similar relevant degree and at least 5 years of experience.
- You have at least 3 years of customer facing experience.
- You are proficient with Python.
- You have basic understanding of electronics, cameras, image processing, computer vision and/or you are a very fast learner in new fields
- You have good communication skills to interact with different stakeholders inside and outside the international company
- You are fluent in English, and have good presentation skills
