Spectricity is a spin-off of imec, a leading R&D center in nano-electronics and digital technologies in Belgium. Spectricity develops low-cost, miniaturized, integrated optical spectral sensing solutions in the visible and near-infrared spectral range (400nm-1050nm). Typical application areas are agriculture, food analysis, health, colorimetric and biomedical applications for industrial and consumer markets.

Application and Product Engineer

Main responsibilities:
  • understand the customer problem and translate this into product specifications
  • help translate application requirements into system requirements with our development teams
  • test and characterize our sensor systems, supporting our development teams
  • support customers on-site in validating our sensor systems in their applications and products

Ideally you are a creative, self-dependent engineer, highly-motivated to be part of a dynamic team creating new value, continuously seeking better solutions for our problems. Specifically:

  • You have a master’s degree in engineering or similar relevant degree by proven experience
  • You have good understanding of elementary electronics and optics, boards, systems and test equipment
  • You have done experimental work at the customer site and know-how to interact with customers
  • Regular international travel will not hold you back
  • Experience with python is a plus
  • Experience with spectroscopy is a plus
  • You are fluent in English, and have good presentation skills
