Spectricity was founded at the end of 2018 as a spin-off of imec, a leading R&D center in nanoelectronics and digital technologies in Belgium. Spectricity develops and manufactures spectral sensing solutions using CMOS technologies. These solutions are designed for high-volume production and use in consumer and mobile devices.
Within the dynamic, multidisciplinary and fast-growing team of technologists, engineers and application experts, we are looking for an enthusiastic Filter Design and System Engineer.

 

Your main responsibilities will be to

  • Design, simulate and verify hyperspectral filter implementations, in close collaboration with Spectricity process engineers and product engineers.
  • Design for manufacturing of Spectricity hyperspectral products, with emphasis on the filter design and system co-design, including process, manufacturing, optics and package tolerances.
  • Development of system models and internal development tools.
  • Together with our engineering team, design our sensor products, characterize the system specifications, define test systems to validate the design, analyze measurement results and propose improvements.

 

Your profile, skills and talents

Ideally you are a creative, self-dependent engineer or scientist, highly-motivated to be part of a dynamic team creating new value, continuously and actively seeking better solutions for our problems. Specifically:

  • You have a master’s degree in Engineering or a similar relevant degree by proven experience.
  • Preferable, you have previous experience in optical design, thin film design or system engineering.
  • You are a fast learner with a drive to excel.
  • You are a team-player who can efficiently interact with your peers in the Engineering department, Application engineers in the Marketing department, Test, Process and Manufacturing engineers in the Operations Department as well as the CTO Office.
  • You have experience in developing optical components and/or system modeling tools, with a focus on product development. You know and apply design concepts such as MC, tolerance analysis, DFM.
  • You have a solid understanding of elementary electronics and optics, boards, systems and test equipment, and have a strong analytic capacity to analyze cross-domain complex systems.
  • Massive amounts of simulation and measurement data do not scare you.
  • You have a healthy focus on quality and a knack for continuous improvement.
  • Experience with spectroscopy and/or optical systems is a strong plus.
  • You have experience with python.
  • You are fluent in English, and have good presentation skills.
