Spectricity Demonstrates AI-Powered Skin Analysis with Multispectral Technology on Mobile Devices
Mechelen, Belgium, January 3, 2025 — Spectricity announces the launch of a new skin analysis experience set to enable the next generation of smart skin care. Leveraging multispectral imager (MSI) on mobile devices combined with lululab’s AI algorithms, this innovative solution enables users to receive personalized skin care recommendations conveniently at any location.
Bringing Smarter and More Convenient Experience to Users
The skin analysis demonstration, powered by multispectral imaging and AI, delivers exceptional results. In just seconds after snapping a photo, users receive skin analysis results such as skin tone and skin type as well as full biomarker maps, including melanin, blood volume, and skin oxygenation.
Utilizing the 15 high-accuracy color channels in the multispectral image sensor, the skin analysis detects your skin tone and provides a Pantone reference together with Individual Typology Angle-based skin type classification. This makes it easy for users to find their perfect cosmetics (e.g., foundation shades) match at home without the hassle of in-store testing.
The skin analysis also helps to diagnose skin issues like dark circles under the eyes. Dark circles can originate from aging, genetics, allergies, or lack of sleep, and the analysis generates a comprehensive biomarker map that enables users to pinpoint the root cause of dark circles more precisely, leading to effective and targeted treatment recommendations.
Delivering Accurate Analysis Results through Multispectral Imaging
In the skin analysis demonstration, Spectricity’s S1-A Accessory Device, equipped with a multispectral sensor and camera module, is attached to a standard commercial tablet. This device captures light across 15 color channels within the visible spectrum, surpassing the typical 3 channels of RGB cameras. Multispectral imaging is set to transform skin analysis by enhancing white balancing, uncovering underlying causes of skin issues, and introducing new metrics such as skin tone and skin type identification.
